What a fun night we had playing with obstacles... June 18th was our "Spooky Playnight"
June 5th and 6th Cloud with Mo, Jan with Ty, along with Vegas and I attended a Saddle Fitting Clinic in Valley Center taught by 3Star Parelli Professionals Tina Giordano and Margit Deerman Unbelievable, it was one of the best clinics I've ever attended!
June 4th with had 3Star Parelli Professional, Margit Deerman over for privates. I had an hour on Level3 Freestyle, Roxanne did a Level3 Liberty hour, and Lydia spent her hour helping Traveler get braver...Mike had our camera and he was on his way home from GrassValley. He made it home in time to get pictures of Margit, Lydia, and Traveler. Roxanne and Margit helped by riding the bike.
In May, we had a super learning experience at a "Workshop Weekend" taught by 3 Star Parelli Professionl, Margit Deerman. Unfortunetly the pictures didn't turn out...
The weekend of March 12,th 2010 we camped at "Oak Creek Ranch" in Julian, CA. What a fabulous place. If you like the great wide open to ride in - this is the place. Saturday the weather turned chilly so we decided to all hop in the truck and go visit Julian. We shopped and ate pie at "Mom's". Sunday was beautiful and we had a nice ride. What's nice about "Oak Creek Ranch" is she has two places for guests to stay. A house and a barn. Jean is a great host and the accommodations are lovely. Our group shares the houses. If you'd like to camp there the website is: http://oakcreekhorseranch.com/index.html
Looking out of my camper
Cows were all over
Great obstacle - we crossed just ahead thru the water running over large stones
Had fun at the Equine Affaire in Pomona on February 4th and 5th of 2010 We got there Wednesday night and stayed in the campground. We enjoyed all the shopping and Craig Cameron. We watched his "Extreme Cowboy Race" the first night and a Parelli student was competing.. don't know how she did because we left Friday. I hope she did well. Julie rode a Halflinger in the Breed Demonstration. She looked beautiful riding side saddle dressed like an elegant lady. I really wish Parelli was represented there. I'm asking people to write to the Equine Affaire and express their disappointment that Parelli isn't at the Affaire. Below are two e-mail addresses to contact. tsharp@equineaffaire.com Vice President: Terri Sharp clong@equineaffaire.com Program Manager: Coagi Long
What a howling good time we had on Halloween. The pictures don't do the costumes justice - that were fabulous - so imaginative! Mike barbecued and everyone brought a side dish. Julie with her "Sea" theme kids, horse, and dog, won 1st prize which was a Parelli™ On Line Pattern Package. We played many childhood horse games and ended our day with a very scary obstacle course.
This is Boldr' at his new home- no Parelli™ halter, but we're working on em!
Michael and I traveled to Ocala, Florida to Pat and Linda Parelli's ranch for the "Savvy Gold Summit" on October 17th, 2009 It was lovely - we had such a nice, relaxing time! Pat and Linda spent all day with us and we finished with dinner while Katie sang for us!
When we got home from Mc Call's we went to Fiesta Island again, and this time my sister, Laurie and my two nieces; Chrissy and lauren went... It so nice there and it's really fun for our dogs - they can run loose with you!
My first trip to Parelli's ISC in Pagosa Springs, Co, I had the good fortune to be assigned a bunk house with a gal named Jean. Well, we became best friends and through the years we get together - on the first weekend in October; Jean flew out from Illinois and went camping with us at Mc Calls
(this is my good friend Jean)
The beginning of September we went to Fiesta Island and did our beach riding
We enjoyed sitting around and selling at the Vaguero's Tack Swap on August 1st. Sold a lot of tack too!
My granddaughters, Taylor and Taryn came down for a few weeks in July and we had fun playing around and going to the Vaqueros Gymkhana Show July 26th.
July 5th we went over to Fallbrook for a ride at Deluz
Our scheduled "Beach Ride" was changed at the last minute because Julie's horse, Tony, went down that morning. Tony was a great guy and around 35. We rode Daly ranch instead. It was pretty hot for our workshop on Sunday, June 28th, so we played a lot in the sprinkler and did some rolling.
Our camping trip to Heart Bar in Big Bear on June18th was by far the most beautiful place we've been!
On May 24th we had a workshop with Sue Eoff from "Waltzing with Horses" in Vista. We started out waking up our bodies, being aware of our core, and stretching.
Waco, our cat, also loved Sue. The goal of the workshop was smooth transitions, quality of gait, flexibility in our bodies, and timing and feel. Sue watched each of us to see if our horses were understanding us. It was a great workshop!
May 23rd was Valley Center's Western Days. We had a booth there and Julie was in the Parade driving "Blossom".
We were busy around here practicing for our audition
Pat gave me a score of 7.5 and a Green Ribbon for Level 3++ in Liberty! It was like competing in the Olympics for me! A dream come true! Vegas was an angel!
.
We had a baby shower for Julie on April 11th. She got so many darling cowboy outfits for John Wayne Jr. III
Our Horse camping trip to StageCoach April 3rd - 5th, started out with 70 mile winds, but we hung in there, repaired some of the shelters, and bunkered down for the night. Next morning it was beautiful. We had a great turnout and welcomed some new "Savvy Sisters". Really we're the "Savvy Sisters and Brothers" because John, Terry, and Joaquin are part of our group. We took Rooster with us for his first camping trip and Terry rode him.
We've been committing most days to getting our Parelli Auditions taped. Follow this link to see Roxanne's and Merry's audition. Good luck Roxanne! She passed Level 1/2 on line and freestyle! Roxanne and Merry's Level 1/2 Online Parelli Audition Jan sent in her Parelli Audition with Ty for Level 1/2 on Line. Good Luck! She passed her online and is waiting for her results for Level 1/2 Freestyle. I sent in my Level 3/4 Liberty audition - haven't heard yet.
Our cattle trip on March 7th was a really good time. We started with a warm- up in the arena and then went and played for two hours with the cattle. We ended with sharing lunch and stories in the parking lot.
We went horse camping at Manzanita on February27th - March 1st. We didn't get very many pictures, but this is my favorite campground so far...the trails were great and so were all the people we encountered. This was Samantha's (Julie and John's daughter) first trip and they allow dogs. Blu, my dog below - Lucy, Laurie's dog, Billy, Julie's dog, and Lady, Sandy's dog, all came and had a great time;especially in the large ponds!
The weather was absolutely perfect for our second workshop on Saturday, January 31st.. We had a full day of simulations, transitions, teaching our horses to change direction. and the scary tarp! We had a lot of tarp time, because our unconfident mustang, Dakota, has refused to go very close or over a tarp! Lois did such a good job with prepping him that he decided to go across the tarp at the end of the day! Vegas is so funny resting on the pedestal(she's still a bit unconfident to have all four feet on it) Mo doesn't mind resting on it either. Their so cute!
Our first workshop of 2009 was on Saturday, January 10th. We warmed up in the arena; then we did some backing into the round corral and finished up with some riding.
Our Camping Trip to Casper's was the weekend of January 16th - 19th. The view from the top is outstanding. You can see the Ocean and Catalina Island
