North County's most "SAVVY" horse boarding facility provides unique options for horse owners. It's more than just a place for humans to park their horses between visits; it's a natural horsemanship oasis for both horses and their humans. Savvy Stables offers traditional boarding facility amenities such as 24' x 24' corrals, extra, extra, large pens, round corrals, and arenas. However, going beyond the basics, Savvy Stables also provides a unique environment designed specifically for the natural horsemanship enthusiast. Savvy Stables has dedicated over 10 acres to a virtual playground ("Playland"). It has natural obstacles and wide open spaces where people can bring their horses out to refine their skills, overcome their fears, develop their own and their horses confidence, make friends, and have fun!
Natural Horse-man-ship (thanks to Pat and Linda Parelli) is a method of teaching horses that creates a deeper partnership between humans and their horses. It is part horse psychology to help humans better understand their horses, and mostly human retraining.
The goal of natural horsemanship is to progress from forcing a horse to do what the human wants, to the horse becoming a willing partner.
Owner, Cindy Giannini, had the good fortune to attend many Parelli Clinics here in California. Her first trip to Pat Parelli's International Study Center (ISC ) in Pagosa Springs, was in 2005 for a Level 2 - two week course in 2005.
Upon returning home she's been inspired to help Savvy Stables become a wonderful place like Pat and Linda's.
She returned to the ISC in May of 2007 for the the six week courses;
"Liberty and Horse Behavior"
"Fluidity I - Freestyle"
and
"Fluidity II - Finesse"
Cindy brought home the "Patterns" and a lot of inspiration and imagination from her third trip to the ISC in August 2008 for four weeks.
2009 brought fun at the Savvy Spotlight in Reno, Nv.
I was chosen to compete in the Liberty portion... Pat himself gave me a green ribbon and said I was Level 3 plus!
It was very exciting and fun. Also, I passed my Level 3 Liberty assessment.
Now in 2010, I've passed my Level 3 On Line and I'm presently practicing for my Level 3 Freestyle.
The most exciting news is I've been accepted for the 1 Star Parelli Instructor Program in Pagosa this August.
WOW!!! What a dream come true!
Vegas with my granddaughters, Taylor and Taryn
